Christians all over the world flock to Israel to see the region where Jesus Christ first preached. In 2011, Israel opened the Gospel Trail, a path by which Christians and other tourists can experience the Biblical landscapes that Christ and his followers encountered.

The Gospel Trail traces historical routes described in the Bible, which tells that Jesus left Nazareth and traveled to Capernaum near the Sea of Galilee. It was that area that became the focus of Jesus’ ministry. The trail starts at Mount Precipice and ends at Capernaum.

Other must-see destinations for Christians include the ancient, holy city of Jerusalem. Here, visitors can walk through Old City streets similar to those Jesus struggled down as he bore his cross. Moreover, the city has deep Old Testament resonance, as the sight where Abraham’s hand was stayed before he could sacrifice his son.
